Exhausted...

I feel so bad for Devyn.  We had a REALLY rough night last night.  I have been up since about midnight with her.  She just didn't want to sleep.  She did throw up yesterday and she is crying all the time.  I think she is really uncomfortable and has a bad stomach ache.  Both Brant and I had to go to work today so we had to send her with Natalie.  Which is probably better because she cuddles up to Natalie more than she does me and Brant so I know she is in good hands!  Natalie just sent me this picture.  She looks so sad.  I wish I could go home and be with her. 

Moving Up!

We graduated from our gymnastics class this weekend!!  We are moving up to the next level.  It makes me kind of sad that my little girl isn't in the infant class anymore.  She is getting so old!! 

The kids got medals and everything on Sunday.  We tried to get a picture of Jacob and Devyn together but they weren't really having it.  Well I think Devyn wasn't really having it.  But here are the attempts!

Weekend Pics!

I LOVE weekends!!  I love being able to spend time with my family and do nothing! It's awesome.  

We are in the process of looking for a daycare.  Natalie is going to be having her baby in April so we need someone to watch Devyn and Jacob while I am student teaching.  But then I am off ALL summer and I can't wait to be able to spend every single day with Devyn.  We went to a place yesterday and it was okay but it isn't Natalie.  Not sure how we are ever going to find someone as good as her.

Devyn is into pushing anything and everything.  We push our table around, the slide around, and our foot stool around.  Looks like fun huh??

Devyn is SO into Brant lately.  Everything is daddy.  I think I have mentioned that before but EVERYTHING is daddy.  Oh daddy, wheres daddy, hi daddy.  I am even daddy.  When I come home she says Hi DADDY!!  I am always correcting her saying no honey I am mommy.  I think she is just really excited that we can say daddy and clearly.

Having a temper tantrum... I am probably a bad mom for taking pictures of my child having temper tantrums but they are so funny.  She honestly loses it for no reason sometimes.

I wouldn't give her her pacifier yesterday so this is what she did.  She started crying then climbed into the cabinet and sat there until she was over it.  Well until she was almost over it.

She LOVES taking pictures.  My camera is filled with pictures that Devyn took.  Mostly of the floor or maybe the tv will get in there.  She just likes the instant gratification of pressing a button and something happening.  But here she is trying to grab the camera - she hasn't realized yet that I already have it.

DATE NIGHT!!

Brant and I had a date night on Saturday!  A much needed date night!  But after our date night we decided that going out to dinner is just too expensive so I don't think we will be having another one any time soon!  But we still had fun.  We went out for sushi and then stayed at the Westin downtown.  My parents took Devyn!  Thank you Mom and Dad!!  Here are a few pictures from Devyn's Saturday night at Baba and Papa's. 

Oh and we saw Lovely Bones.  I do NOT recommend that movie to anyone that has children.  I was so completely disturbed that there were times that I was sweating and almost about to vomit.  And I am not normally affected by things like that.  But after the movie I decided that Devyn will never be allowed to do anything _ that I will follow her wherever she goes!!  She is going to LOVE me!

I know I always say this but Devyn LOVES Drew.  She grabbed this picture of him and said DREW!! 

Our new word is choo choo.  When she sees a train she says it.  Good thing Drew has every single Thomas the Train!! 

And we love to take things out and put them back in.  She could do this for hours. 

We still aren't good at eating.  Not sure how we are going to get this to work BUT we try.  I feel like I have tried everythign and nothing works. My mom tried ice cream and she didn't even like that!  Sometimes I wonder where she came from!!

My mom put out some crackers and Devyn would take this shot glass and fill it up with crackers and do a shot of the food.  Hey whatever gets her to eat! 

And we have the flu!

It has been a pretty rough week at the Gordons.  Devyn has the flu. Poor little thing.  She really hasn't eaten anything in 2 days.  And when your only 21 lbs that is kind of a big deal.  I really hope she doesn't drop below the 20 lbs mark.  I hate seeing her sick but I love that she is cuddling up to me!  She isn't much of a cuddler.  I stayed home with her yesterday and she wouldn't let me put her down - so I carried her around all day.  The only time she got down was to throw up all over the place.  She only got me once.  She got Brant after he was all dressed up in his suit!  I thought that was pretty funny _ Brant did not. 

Devyn is with Jacob today because she seemed like she was feeling better this morning.  Natalie sent me this picture _ she looks so sad. 

This was her yesterday sleeping on me.  Cutie. I guess it could always be worse.  ALL of my sisters kids are sick! 

Weekend Pics!

It has been a pretty boring weekend here at the Gordon house.  It is too cold to do anything outside...I can't wait for summer!!

Devyn has been really into her building blocks lately.  We sit at the art table and we build all day long.  When whatever we are building falls over she goes Uh Oh...It makes me laugh!  And the new game Devyn plays is hiding in her bedroom with the door shut and we have to go up the stairs and knock on the door and ask where she is then open the door and then she starts laughing because we found her!  But she hides in the same place EVERY single time!

We did have a pretty severe temper tantrum this morning.  I wouldn't let her have another popsicle so she  ran upstairs shut herself in her room and cried and kicked for about 5 mins.  I ignored her so thankfully it didn't last that long!

We are obsessed with apples.  Devyn would honestly eat 10 a day if I let her.  She is constantly asking for one.  I think it is because she can say it and I can understand it!  Everyday we are able to understand a few more words_pretty soon she is going to be really talking.

I LOVE these next 2 pictures.  Anne called me the other morning and Devyn was in the middle of a meltdown because of the popsicles again.  I actually grabbed the camera and started taking pictures of her when she was melting down.  This was around 10 am and we had already had 3 popsicles...pedialyte popsicles so they can't be that bad right?!

SNOW DAY!

It is snowing pretty hard out there so I am working from home!!  Yay!!  Snow days used to mean that you didn't have to school _ now all they mean is you get to work at home in your pjs... But I will take it!!

School started back up for me so it has been a pretty emotional week for me.  I had a meltdown last night and I am sure that this is only the first of many more to come.  I don't see Devyn from Monday - Friday...but today I got lucky!!!

We got a tent for D and it has those fun chucky cheese balls in it.  Devyn slides down the slide into the tent and in with the balls.  This is what my kitchen looks like right now.

Devyn has become obsessed with the camera.  She will take it and try and take a picture and say CHEESE!  It's one of the cutest things.  But here she is trying to take the camera away from me!

We have been spending a lot of time at Target just running up and down the aisles.  Last time we went we were playing with this microphone...she is sick of it already but for the first few days we had a ton of fun with it.

Okay she definitely does NOT get this from me but she has started to clean the house!  Brant is obsessed with this thing if anyone cares _ it is a vacuum and swiffer together.

Shedd Aquarium!

We finally made it to the Shedd!!  Baba and Drew came down and went with me, Brant and Big D.  It was fun _ I actually really liked that place!  Normally my ADD kicks in and I want to leave but I could have stayed longer.  Devyn was still a little young for it but Drew LOVED it!!  We lasted 3 hours which I think is pretty good with a 1 year old.  Devyn fell asleep in the car on the way home literally 45 seconds after we put her in the carseat...

Anyway here are a few pictures of Drew and Devyn at the Shedd.

We stayed and watched a show of the whales, dolphines, penquins, and otters.  We got to see the new baby whale too.  I was shocked but Devyn actually stayed and sat through the entire 25 minute show. 

Taking a rest with Daddy!  Brant is so patient!  I don't do well with crowds and screaming kids who are pushing and cutting in front of my 1 year old who is patiently waiting her turn (good thing I am going to be a teacher)...anyway 1 of New Year's resolutions is to be more like Brant... TRY and be as patient and calm as he is.  My other one is to dry my hair at least 2 times a week.  It's already January 4th and I haven't done that yet.

This is pretty much how the day went...us trying to hold Devyn and walk around and her wanting to run.  Here I am trying to get her on my shoulders and her fighting to get on the ground and run.  And then Brant trying to do the same thing! 

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year!  We have been pretty busy lately so there are LOT and LOTS of pictures coming! 

This is kind of hard to see but this is our new view from our apartment!  I will try and take a better one when the sun isn't just coming out!  But we have an amazing view!

Here is Melissa, Jacob, Devyn and Me.  We are at the Lincoln Park Zoolights!  They have a ton of Christmas decorations up and lights everywhere.  It's pretty cool! Poor Devyn_ I went a little overboard on her outfit!  I thought it was a little colder than it was _ poor thing couldn't even move!  Miss you Melissa and Jacob!!  Devyn's shoes wouldn't stay on!  They don't make snow boots for feet as small as hers!

I am not really sure what is going on in this picture I just thought her outfit looks cute!  We are still at the zoolights!!

Here we are with Santa!  Still at the zoolights!  I REALLY wish I had a picture of Jacob and Santa to post but I didn't get one!  Jacob and Santa didn't really mix!  Maybe next year!  Devyn was okay but we had her pacifier in.  I tried to take it out for the picture and Santa told me to keep it in _ after it fell on the zoo floor I put it back in her mouth!  Sorry Kelly :-)

Baba got us a sled for Christmas and we have used it 2 times already!  It is SO much fun!!  Brant goes sooo fast down the hill and Devyn just laughs!

She doesn't look like she is having fun here but I promise you she really does love it!

And of course my kid would be the only child that must swing on the swing when it is freezing cold out!  We let her and the cold didn't seem to be bothering her much.

After the swing we ran around in the snow for a little bit!  Look at her red cheeks!

I left my empty coffee cup on the table and Devyn climbed up and started to drink it!!  Perfect Starbucks advertisement if you ask me!

In our new car!

We tried to go to the Shedd and we couldn't get in because it was at capacity.  We are going to try again tomorrow so hopefully it works out better!  But since the field museum is right next door and I can get in for free because I work at Allstate we decided to go.  BORING!!  BORING!!  BORING!!!  But here is Devyn playing in the little kids music room - which was honestly the best part of the entire place.

Devyn could not wait to get on this drum!  All the kids kept cutting her and going in front of her!  But when she finally got to play on it she loved it!  I love this picture because she looks so tiny next to the drum.

Then we needed to take a break at the museum.  There were 4 chairs and we had to climb on all 4 chairs before we found one that we liked!  Really they were the exact same chairs.

This was so funny to me!  Brant didn't think it was as funny but I was dying!  We got Devyn this new art table_ Jacob has one and the kids LOVE it so we got one too!!  Anyway so I ran upstairs to get something and came back down and this is how she was sitting.  I think its so funny because this is exactly how I would sit!!  We are so into popsicles right now.  Devyn will go to the freezer and try and pull it up and say please please please until we finally give in.  She had 7 popsicles the other day.  After 3 I stopped letting her have them but when she says mamma please how can I deny her?!!  I am going to be so bad at disciplining.
